Giving Tree at Mox Boarding House

Hello Friends! We hope your Thanksgiving was cozy, and that you got your fair share of pumpkin pie. Everyone deserves pie. Thanksgiving marks the start of an important time for all of us at Mox Boarding House- it’s Giving Tree season! This is the time of year that we look forward to celebrating the generosity of our community by hosting our holiday Giving Trees at both of our locations. Our Giving Tree is a tradition we started at our Ballard location in 2012. We wanted to highlight the tremendous work that many of our local non-profits are doing every day to support families and individuals in need, whilst also providing an opportunity for our patrons to give in a big and meaningful way. Each year, our in-house giving program, ENGAGE, picks a local non-profit to be the benefic

    Gauntlet Defending Champs: Team Phoenix

We’re just a few days away from The Gauntlet, our annual charity gaming tournament at Mox Bellevue. Each year, twenty teams from our local area come together to compete in a day of games and giving, and we wanted to throw a spotlight on our defending champions: Team Phoenix! While many of our Gauntlet teams hail from game studios throughout our area, we often welcome teams from our Mox community to join us in the competition. Emily and Joe Klopchic and their friends ended up playing a crucial role in The Gauntlet 2016 – when a team dropped out two days before the tournament, they assembled a team and swooped in to save the day. The team called themselves “Except All Substitutions,” and their eleventh-hour preparation paid off, earning them a fourth-place finish.  When they were

    Regift-A-Palooza!!!!!

You’ve heard of a White Elephant gift exchange, right? Well, we here at Mox Boarding House are putting our own twist on it! REGIFT-A-PALOOZA is a Green Elephant gift exchange! What’s the difference between a Green Elephant exchange and a White Elephant exchange? You don’t need to buy a new gift! The point of our REGIFT-A-PALOOZA is to regift something you got this past holiday season that left you less-than-dazzled. This way, someone else gets that third copy of Splendor, or whatever you don’t have a particular need for, and you leave with something shiny and new!GREEN ELEPHANT RULES:At the beginning of the event, everyone will draw a number from a hat (NOTE: Might not literally be a hat).Whoever goes first will pick a gift from the pool of gifts, and open it.Each subsequent person can eit
